Whitehouse Engineering has been involved in projects for a wide variety of industrial organisations ranging from Shipbuilding and Pharmaceuticals to food production throughout Ireland. The type of work involved has been varied, process ventilation ranging from sawdust removal to acid exhaust systems and HVAC systems from general workshops to cleanrooms have all been successfully undertaken. Mild steel, Aluminium and various grades of stainless steel material have been utilised on these projects. Some of our previous contracts are listed below as examples of the type of work the company has successfully undertaken.

Du-Pont (UK) Ltd. has a large facility at Maydown near Londonderry, which carries out a wide range of operations, which are continually being upgraded. Du-Pont demand exacting standards in all the works that they contract out, with Whitehouse Engineering having been awarded numerous contracts in this facility only acts as further proof of the companies ability to meet the most exacting standards. It also demonstrated the company’s ability to be as versatile as any project demands a feature of the planning and development progress and policy pursued by the company. The work undertaken by Whitehouse Engineering varied from general HVAC installations manufactured from aluminium and galvanised mild steel. To specialised process exhaust systems some of which were manufactured from expensive high grade stainless steel, and were manufactured in jigs for an exact fit onto the manufacturing equipment.

Harland & Wolff Shipyard was formally one of the largest employers in Northern Ireland. Two areas were Whitehouse Engineering has provided expertise for the yard is in noise suppression for their engine test bed facility. An acoustic screen was required which measured 33.5 metres long by 6 metres high (100 ft x 20 ft) it was manufactured from galvanised mild steel and of double skin construction containing acoustic absorption materials. A silencer was also required complete with inlet ducting and supporting steelwork. At the time this was the largest diesel exhaust silencer supplied on any AAF contract. The dimension of the work required by the shipyard is unusual and of impressive proportion. Whitehouse Engineering has the capability of providing the expertise to successfully accomplish these tasks.

Seagate International set up a manufacturing facility for the manufacture of read/write heads for computer disk drives in Londonderry Northern Ireland. Whitehouse Engineering was awarded the contract for the supply and installation of the makeup air ventilation for the cleanroom, and the process and acid exhaust systems along with the HVAC systems for the administration areas of the plant on this fast track project. The company was also involved in the “Hook up” of the manufacturing equipment. Hewlett Packard. Whitehouse Engineering were involved in the first phase of this major development at Leixlip County Kildare. The contract involved the manufacture and installation of the HVAC services for the Production No. 2 building, Energy Centre and Cafeteria/Fitness areas of the complex. Wyeth Medica expanded their facility in Newbridge County Kildare with Whitehouse Engineering being awarded the contract for the supply and installation of the HVAC services to several buildings within this complex.

Boston Scientific extended their plant in Galway. Whitehouse Engineering were awarded the contract for the supply and installation of the HVAC service for the extension which involved 3 manufacturing cleanrooms and associated support areas.
